I've been shooting film since 1999.I consider myself a documentary shooter. I document my life, basically. Sometimes I just find myself in front of subjects, sometimes I go searching for them. At the end of the day, it's a lot of mountains and cars, and now that I'm here in Asheville, it's a lot of cityscape.
Film slows down the process of photography, which creates more time for intention, and therefore creates more appreciation. That's just the tip of the iceberg of why I shoot film.
My favorite camera/film combo is my Mamiya 645 loaded with Ektar 100. That's a match made in heaven.
Fred Herzog and Vivian Maier are my favorite photographers. In my eyes they both produced the most stunning collections of work ever created and they're both the best representation of blue collar photography.
